Rural Development through Non-Formal Vocational Training in Salavan (2020- 2024)

Our Rural Development through Non-Formal Vocational Training project in Salavan province, Laos, is dedicated to empowering young villagers by providing them with practical skills and knowledge to start and sustain small businesses in 25 villages in Ta oi (15 villages) and Toumlan (10 villages). This initiative focuses on vocational training in trades such as tailoring, hairdressing, mechanics, and carpentry through the Integrated Vocational Education Training Schools (IVETS).

We provide start-up support, including equipment and starter kits, and essential business and financial management training to ensure long-term success. Participants also benefit from study tours where they learn from established entrepreneurs in their field. For those seeking further skills enhancement, we offer the opportunity to enroll in advanced vocational training courses.

The project, supported by Solidaritätdienst International e.V. (SODI) through the BMZ, helps young people build sustainable careers and fosters economic growth in rural communities. Together, we are creating opportunities for a brighter future.
